A Couple of Grade Changes

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, but I haven’t had the time to officially do it until now. I wanted to tweak Dustin Ackley and Chris Carter’s grades. The Mariners and Athletics top lists were done pretty early in the process, so I didn’t have the benefit of seeing how I would be distributing my grades. I thought I’d be a little bit stricter of a grader than I was.

Because of this, I’m bumping up Ackley’s grade to an A-/B+, which is more in the range of players who are on the same skill level as Ackley. Keeping him from that straight A- is the fact that I don’t have any data on him at this point against pro-level pitching beyond what he did in the Arizona Fall League.

As for Carter, I was simply a little too generous with my grade and didn’t take into account as much as I needed to, the negative or neutral value he’ll have defensively. So I’m lowering Carter’s grade from a B+/A- to a B+. Still has the potential to be a fantastic offensive player.
