Atlanta Braves Farm System Overview – 2010
Overview
The Atlanta Braves are well renowned for their stacked farm systems and while this year’s system isn’t quite as stacked, it’s plenty strong.
Jason Heyward, perhaps the top prospect in baseball, is a big reason why Atlanta’s farm system is so strong, but there are plenty of quality prospects thereafter. Julio Teheran and Arodys Vizcaino lead a talented crop of pitching and Freddie Freeman gives Atlanta another quality hitting prospect after Heyward.
The system overall is well balanced with a good mix of hitting and pitching, youth and MLB-ready talent. However, once you get past the top 12 or 13 or so prospects, pitchers take over and there is little positional depth to be seen, which will need to be worked on in the future.
