The Comeback of Fautino de los Santos

It’s been a long road back for Fautino de los Santos, as he faced numerous setbacks in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. But he seems to be back to full strength, with stuff as good or greater than what he showed pre-surgery.

In these two recent August outings, De los Santos showed off a tremendous fastball with excellent life and tailing action, coming in between 94 and 96 mph. The pitch is hard to lay off when he throws it up in the zone since it starts middle and rises on the hitter. When thrown down in the strike zone, it has a sinking appearance.
