  • Dave Cameron of U.S.S. Mariner notes how the Mariners’ upcoming road trip is a litmus test for their season…
  • When I broke down the 2008 draft, a player who’s swing I did not like was Ike Davis…he was way out in front, very handsy with his swing. The swing ended up playing very poorly in pro ball as evidenced by his disastrous season in the NYPL last season. So it’s a testament to the work Davis has put into his swing to bounce back and emerge again as a quality first base prospect. I still don’t see huge power for Davis as a first baseman, but he’s showing his bat might be playable at first base after all…
  • Interesting read from Slate Magazine’s Greg Hanlon on how the camera angles used by most teams skews the viewer’s perception of a pitcher’s movement and location. It’s something that I personally need to be aware of when I’m watching player clips. (H/T Mets Minor League Blog)
