USS Mariner found a really interesting article in the NY Times about Zack Greinke using advanced statistical analysis to gain an extra advantage over his opponents.
I don’t have much to add other than it’s nice to see sabermetric analysis seeping more and more into the mainstream mind set.

Jon Shields of Pro Ball NW writes about Rich Harden as a possibility for the Seattle Mariners…from the sound of it, he seems like a good fit for Seattle both in terms of biography and skill set (fly ball pitcher + pitcher’s park + great outfield defense = excellent results), but I hold out hope the Orioles will make a run for him. He’d be an excellent stop gap for Baltimore and is somebody you could unload for prospects or get draft picks in return once his contract expires should it come down to it.
