Is Francisco Liriano back? He could be as Aaron Gleeman points out…I have some video on Liriano that suggests he’s tweaked his mechanics this year to get a little more oomph out of his stuff and I hope to have an article on it in the near future…
Doug Gray has a scouting report on potential first round pick and Ohio State pitcher Alex Wimmers
Marlins pitcher Andrew Miller is still searching for his delivery. This is a lesson for those who would like to see a pitcher’s delivery overhauled. If you change too much, you run the risk of losing whatever natural mechanics you had. From the sounds of it, the Marlins tried to overhaul Miller’s delivery and now he can’t find the strike zone. The best way to go about things is to make a player’s current mechanics more efficient rather than undergo a complete overhaul.
Is Clayton Kershaw already declining? No, he isn’t. He’s still trying to become more consistent with his command, which isn’t uncommon for a 22 y/o pitcher.
Interesting statistical look about where the Cubs offense is going…
