A couple of quick draft reports, one on Bryce Brentz, the Middle Tennessee State outfielder and the other on Michael Choice, an outfielder from the University of Texas-Arlington.
I do think Choice has some concerns that make him a risky prospect, but one point where I would have to disagree with the report is the above average power label. I’ve seen numerous reports suggest Choice has plus-plus raw power in his bat.
It’s not the biggest deal in the world and likely won’t matter much in the long run, but the Pirates sent relief pitching prospect Ronald Uviedo to Toronto for pitcher Dana Eveland. Eveland has been awful this year and wasn’t good last year, so I have a hard time seeing why the Pirates gave up a solid relief prospect for him. You can click here to read my scouting report on Uviedo, who I rated as the No. 12 prospect in the Pirates’ organization.
