Some notes from John Sickels about Donn Roach and Zack Von Rosenberg. The Von Rosenberg write-up states his velocity was just in the low-to-mid-80s during Spring Training, which is something I was not aware of and would really concern me if true. It may be the reason that an advanced high school pitcher like Von Rosenberg was kept out of full season ball to start the season. Hopefully it’s a mechanical problem rather than a health-related issue. The sub-par performance by Von Rosenberg so far this season, despite the small sample size, does indicate something may be wrong.
