New York Mets Farm System Overview – 2010
Overview
The New York Mets are a well balanced system with a solid mix of hitters and pitchers, both in the lower and upper levels of their minor league system. While they don’t have a true elite prospect, they have 3 or so very good ones and then three good close-to-MLB-ready prospects.
In Single-A Savannah, the team was deep in pitching prospects with a starting rotation that included the likes of Kyle Allen, Jeurys Familia, Robert Carson, and Eric Beaulac.
The team has a very nice track record with Latin American talent. The team’s top three prospects are from Latin America (Jenrry Mejia, Wilmer Flores, and Fernando Martinez) and they have some promising young Latin talent in the lower levels as well (Cesar Puello and Juan Urbina, who has yet to play).
