While looking at ERA will tell you just the opposite, Boscan has actually had a nice bounce back season for the Rangers. He’s been way too hittable, but it’s nice to see his K% rebound like it has. In 105 total innings last season, Boscan struck out 59 batters. In 144 innings this season, Boscan has struck out 116 batters. Also keep in mind Boscan is pitching a much tougher league for pitchers this season.
Eichhorn is a name to keep in mind. The right handed pitcher resides in the Arizona Diamondbacks farm system and is currently pitching with Missoula of the Pioneer League. He was a third round pick in 2008, but underwent Tommy John, which forced him to miss most of the 2009 season. He’s come back strong in 2010, showing his usual good command and feel for pitching. Eichhorn does not have premium velocity, but the life on his fastball is good and he hides the pitch well. In addition, Eichhorn has two potentially above average offerings in his curveball and change-up. Biggest achilles heel? The long ball, which is something he’ll need to correct.
