Pitch-by-Pitch Look at Braves Prospect Randall Delgado
PROSPECT WE’RE WATCHING – Randall Delgado (RHP, Atlanta Braves)
A quick note on video structure…videos are edited to include only key and legitimate prospects. Time between pitches and between innings are edited out. Some commercials are left in out of respect for the companies that purchase ad buys.
I use time markers for when a particular hitter comes up to bat or a certain pitcher enters the game so you don’t have to shuffle through the video looking for key players. Games are edited so you can scout and evaluate a prospect in the most convenient and quickest way possible.
This article is an extension of the scouting reports from Atlanta’s top prospect lists with more video for readers to view…
SCOUTING REPORT
This game was shot early in the year and I understand he improved his command as the season wore on, especially in August (BB% of 5.1) and September (0 walks) in 35 combined innings.
I’m unsure if he just got into a groove or if he made adjustments that helped bring about the change. But for now let’s look at what hampered Delgado prior to those 35 innings, why he struggled with his control.
