A quick note on video structure…videos are edited to include only key and legitimate prospects. Time between pitches and between innings are edited out. Some commercials are left in out of respect for the companies that purchase ad buys.

I use time markers for when a particular hitter comes up to bat or a certain pitcher enters the game so you don’t have to shuffle through the video looking for key players. Games are edited so you can scout and evaluate a prospect in the most convenient and quickest way possible.

Like Kyle Gibson who pitched in this same game, Casey Kelly was not at his best. He started out strong, locating his fastball on the corners, while showing off a curveball with great depth on a rare strikeout of Ben Revere. But things started to go downhill in the second as he let a couple of fastballs get too much of the plate. As a result, Kelly allowed six consecutive hits before recording a second out in the inning. Three hits were of the extra base variety including a triple on a 90 mph fastball.

Kelly’s defense did him no favors however..
