I watched Kevin Gausman’s April 6th start against Harrisburg recently, and he showed much better than his stat line would indicate.

The 2012 first round pick of the Baltimore Orioles threw 4 innings, gave up 6 runs (4 earned), 8 hits, and a home run. He also struck out 8 batters and walked none.

The stat line is a little misleading. His defense did him no favors, and a couple of the hits he allowed were soft in contact. That said, he hung a curveball that a batter deposited over the left field ball, and he pushed a curveball too far to his left resulting in a wild pitch and a run.
