I came out of this game liking Blake Beavan more than I thought I would going in. What really stood out to me was the way he pounded the strike zone. He had one of the best strike percentages of the pitchers I’ve tracked so far this year and when he missed, he didn’t miss by much.

While he is consistently in the strike zone, I’d like to see him do a better job of commanding his ball within it. He doesn’t miss the catcher’s mitt by much, but…
